Multi Electronic Setting Tool
The Multi Electronic Setting Tool (MEST) by Interwell enables multiple plug settings and retractions in a single run when paired with the multiset plug.

The Product
Interwell’s Multi Electronic Setting Tool (MEST) is designed to set and retract a plug several times in the same run. The MEST design is based on the successful technology of our existing EST and its extensive global run record.
Application
When used together with Interwell’s multiset plug, the MEST can set, retract and re-set a plug multiple times in the same run (multiset mode). The MEST will be connected to the plug during multiset mode. When the plug has been set and retracted the required number of times, it is possible to fully set the plug and disconnect the setting tool, leaving the plug to act as a barrier in the well (Final set mode).
Key Capabilities
- Field Resettable
- Non-pyrotechnic
- Debris tolerant, fully self-contained
- Reduced risks associated with Wireline mechanical manipulation
- E-Line, surface powered, no batteries
- Suitable for Integrated Operations (IO)
- Independent of well pressure for operation
- Able to be jarred free from the plug if necessary
- Setting force is applied in a controlled manner
- Live surface display MEST parameters such as stroke position and force during setting /retracting significantly reduces operational time, compared to traditional wireline operations
- Set and retrieve different plug sizes
- Set / retract plug multiple times in the same run

Application Areas
Temporary P&A
Interwell offers secure, efficient Temporary P&A solutions with advanced casing plugs, ensuring well integrity and compliance during well suspension and abandonment operations.
Well Integrity
Re-establish well integrity, extend well lifespan and increase revenue. Efficient, cost-effective solutions compared to new completions.
Well Testing (Pressure/Leak/Inflow Test)
Detect leaks, perform pressure and inflow tests on casing, liner or BOPs with high operational efficiency and no left-hand rotation.
Production Optimisation
Prevent water influx, increase oil and gas production and extend well lifespan. Isolate zones, retrofit gas lift and optimise revenue through tailored solutions.
Completion Repair
Repair old and new completions, including setting packers, leak testing and straddle operations. Achieve reduces costs, compared to a full new completion.
