The Product
The Insert Valve Carrier (IVC)
The Insert Valve Carrier (IVC) provides the means of retrofitting third party replacement valves by using the existing Sub Surface Safety Valve (SSSV) profile. A profiles-independent version is also available. Simultaneously the IVC makes use of the existing hydraulic system to activate the newly placed SSSV. The anchoring mechanism’s design and construction enables the use of standard locking profile or slips mechanism when the existing profile is damaged.
Application
The IVC can be set in or across a landing nipple damaged by wireline/coil tubing wear, scale, corrosion or similar, and makes use of the existing control line. If the sealing areas or key profile are too damaged, the IVC can anchor on slips and seal in other IDs than the seal areas, such as flow couplings above/below the landing nipple.
Key Benefits
- Expandable seals
Profiles-independent version also available - The system is run on wireline/slickline and retrieved on standard GS retrieving tools
- Avoids recompletion and reduces cost by allowing retrofitting of Wireline Retrievable Sub Surface Safety Valves in damaged Downhole Safety Valve nipples
- Designed to fit existing valve profile and can be installed either by standard locking profile or by using slip mechanism.
